ScoochIn

Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Short version: your photos are yours, be kind to the people you photograph, and treat ScoochIn's face checks as a helpful nudge, not a guarantee.

These terms cover the ScoochIn iPhone app and this website, made by Nikhil Walvekar ("we", "us"). By using ScoochIn you agree to them. If you download ScoochIn from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

Your photos

Photos you take with ScoochIn belong to you. They're saved on your phone and are never sent to us, so we don't claim any rights to them.

Photographing other people

Please get the agreement of the people in your photos, respect their wishes about sharing, and follow the laws where you are. Don't use ScoochIn to photograph people secretly or to harass anyone.

What the face checks can and can't do

ScoochIn tells you, live, when it thinks a face is cut off, hidden or blinking. It works hard to get this right, but detection can miss faces or flag the wrong ones, especially in low light, at unusual angles or with large groups. Always check your photo before the moment's gone.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed, lost or imperfect photos, arising from your use of ScoochIn. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you use ScoochIn as a consumer outside India, you keep the protections of the laws where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.
